GulmarGulmarg tour packages are for travellers who want the snow, the Gondola and the meadows of Gulmarg without sorting out cars, hotels and road rules on their own. We are a local team in Kashmir, so we plan each trip around the real conditions in Gulmarg, which change a lot from one month to the next.
This page explains our Gulmarg tour packages in plain words: the plans, what they roughly cost, what is included, when to go and what can go wrong. Prices and terms are shown upfront, so you can compare us with any other operator before you ask for a quote.
Gulmarg Tour Packages at a Glance
Gulmarg is almost always visited as part of a wider Kashmir circuit. Most good Gulmarg tour packages combine Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and the main difference between plans is how many nights you spend on the mountain. The 4 nights 5 days plan is the most common one in the market, and it is a good starting point.
Prices for our Gulmarg tour packages are per person, twin sharing, land only (flights not included). They are starting prices. Your final quote changes with the hotel category, your dates, group size and the car you need. Dates between 21 December and 10 January cost more because it is peak season.
| Plan | Stay plan | Starts from (per person) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 Nights / 5 Days | Srinagar 2N, Gulmarg 1N, Pahalgam 1N | ₹10,500 | Short breaks, first visit |
| 5 Nights / 6 Days | Srinagar 2N (one night on a houseboat), Gulmarg 1N, Pahalgam 1N, Srinagar 1N | ₹12,500 | Families and couples |
| 6 Nights / 7 Days | Srinagar 3N (one night on a houseboat), Gulmarg 2N, Pahalgam 1N | ₹15,500 | Skiers, slow travellers |
Similar plans from other operators and booking sites usually fall between about ₹10,000 and ₹25,000 per person for four to six nights. The gap comes from hotel category, meals and dates. Premium and luxury versions of our Gulmarg tour packages start from around ₹22,000 per person, and we can build those on request. For resort-style stays, see our luxury Kashmir tour packages.
You can see a full day-by-day plan in our 4 nights 5 days Kashmir tour package or our 5N/6D family Kashmir tour package. We can also trim a plan to 3 nights and 4 days if you only want a short break. If none of these fit, our customized Kashmir holiday packages let you set the nights, hotels and route yourself. If you want the whole Gulmarg, Srinagar and Pahalgam route laid out in one place, see our Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam tour package. Want the first snow on the upper slopes? How to Choose Between Gulmarg Tour Packages
Two Gulmarg tour packages with the same number of nights can be very different trips. Before you pay for any of them, check these points.
- Nights in Gulmarg, not total nights: A 6-night plan with one night in Gulmarg is a very different trip from a 6-night plan with two.
- Hotel names: “3-star hotel” can mean anything. Ask for the name of every hotel.
- Meal plan: Breakfast only, breakfast and dinner, and full board are priced differently.
- Car and driver: Ask whether the same car stays with you for the whole trip.
- Weather plan: Good Gulmarg tour packages explain what changes if a road or the Gondola closes.
If an operator cannot answer these in writing, move on. Clear Gulmarg tour packages show what is covered, what is not and what happens when the weather turns.
How Many Nights Do You Need in Gulmarg?
This is the question that changes your trip the most. With one night in Gulmarg you arrive, ride the Gondola, spend the evening and leave the next morning. With two nights you get a full free day, which matters if the weather is bad on day one.
- One night: Fine for a first visit if you only want to see the snow or the meadows and ride the Gondola.
- Two nights: Better for skiers, photographers and families with children, because you are never racing the clock. This is why our 6N/7D plan has two nights in Gulmarg.
- Day trip only: Possible from Srinagar, but the drive is about 50 km each way and the Gondola queues can be long. It leaves very little time for the mountain itself.
If snow is your main reason for going, read our guide to the best time to visit Kashmir for snowfall before you choose your dates.
What Our Gulmarg Tour Packages Include
Every one of our Gulmarg tour packages comes with:
- Hotels in Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam, with centralised heated hotel rooms in winter
- Breakfast and dinner every day
- One night on a Dal Lake houseboat in the 5N/6D and 6N/7D plans (see our heritage houseboat stay on Dal Lake)
- A private car with driver for all transfers and sightseeing, with driver allowance, tolls and parking covered
- Airport pickup and drop
- Srinagar sightseeing, including the Mughal gardens and a Shikara ride on Dal Lake
- Phone and WhatsApp support from our team during the trip
What Is Not Included
Most Gulmarg tour packages leave these out, and we say so before you book:
- Flights or train tickets to Srinagar
- Lunch (usually ₹300 to ₹600 per person per day)
- Gulmarg Gondola tickets (Phase 1 and Phase 2), which are booked separately
- Sledge rides, pony rides, snow bike rides, ski gear and ski instructors
- Garden and monument entry fees
- The local 4×4 or snow-chain vehicle from Tangmarg to Gulmarg on snow days, unless your written quote says it is covered
- Tips, personal expenses and any applicable tax
Always ask whether the Tangmarg to Gulmarg vehicle is in the price. A cheap quote that leaves it out can end up costing the same as a fair one. Do the same for the Gondola: ask which phase your quote covers, if any, and keep that answer in writing.
Where You Stay in Gulmarg
The hotel you pick matters more in Gulmarg than in most places, because the town is small and the best rooms are close to the Gondola base station.
- Budget and mid-range hotels: Simple rooms, heating in winter and meals at the hotel. Good value if you plan to spend the day outside.
- Premium hotels: Better rooms, views and in-house dining. These suit couples and families who want comfort after a cold day.
- Luxury resort: If you want a full resort stay with a spa and a short walk to the Gondola, see our Khyber Gulmarg stay package.
Tell us your budget and we will suggest hotels in your range within our Gulmarg tour packages. Check the heating setup for your room in winter, because Gulmarg nights fall well below zero.
Best Time for Gulmarg Tour Packages
Gulmarg looks completely different in each season, so choose the dates of your Gulmarg tour packages by what you want to do.
| Season | What Gulmarg is like | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| December to March | Snow, skiing, Gondola, sledging. First snow usually comes in mid-December | Snow, skiing, couples |
| April to June | Snow melts, meadows turn green, days are cooler than the plains | Families, walks, photography |
| July to August | Green meadows with some rain, so keep a buffer for road delays | Quiet stays, greenery |
| September to October | Clear skies and autumn colour, with fewer crowds | Photography, relaxed trips |
The best powder for skiing is usually from mid-January to February. Christmas and New Year are the most expensive and crowded dates, and hotels often bill compulsory gala dinners on top. If you are planning around those dates, read our Kashmir winter tour packages page for dates, roads and costs, or look at our Christmas and New Year in Kashmir package.
Chillai Kalan, Kashmir’s coldest 40 days, runs from 21 December 2026 to 31 January 2027 this season, and our Chillai Kalan guide explains what those weeks mean for roads and flights. For every winter month side by side, see our Kashmir in winter month-by-month guide. On the coldest nights, parts of Dal Lake can freeze, and our frozen Dal Lake guide explains when and how to see it safely.
A Sample 4 Nights 5 Days Plan
This is how most of our Gulmarg tour packages run, and the same flow works in every season. The order can change with the weather.
Day 1: Arrive in Srinagar, check in and rest. Short walk by the lake if the weather is kind.
Day 2: Srinagar sightseeing, Mughal gardens and a Shikara ride on Dal Lake. Night in Srinagar.
Day 3: Drive to Gulmarg, about 1.5 to 2 hours in normal weather and 2 to 2.5 hours in winter for the roughly 50 km. Gondola Phase 1 if you book a ticket, a walk around the meadows or time in the snow, and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Pahalgam. It is a long road day, often 4 to 5 hours depending on traffic, so we start early. Evening at leisure by the Lidder River. In the cold months, our Pahalgam in winter guide explains what is open and what to expect, and our Pahalgam travel guide covers the valley in every season.
Day 5: Return to Srinagar and transfer to the airport.
The 5N/6D plan adds a houseboat night and an extra night in Srinagar. The 6N/7D plan adds a second night in Gulmarg, so you get a free day on the mountain without moving hotel.
Things to Do in Gulmarg
Your package gives you the base. These are the activities most guests add to their Gulmarg tour packages.
- Gulmarg Gondola: Phase 1 goes to Kongdoori and Phase 2 goes higher, to the Apharwat area. Phase 2 needs a valid Phase 1 booking, and both can pause for wind, snow or maintenance. Our Gulmarg Gondola ticket booking guide explains tickets, Tatkal slots and refunds, and you can check fares on the official JKCCC ticket portal.
- Skiing and snowboarding: Gulmarg is known for its ski slopes, and the season usually runs from mid-December to March. Ski lift tickets are separate from Gondola tickets. Our Gulmarg winter ski trip guide covers lessons, gear and slopes by level, and you can read why Gulmarg is Asia’s premier ski destination.
- Sledging, snow bike rides and pony rides: Easy, family-friendly options on snow days.
- Igloo Cafe: It is usually open from about mid-January to mid-March, so it is normally closed at Christmas and New Year. See our Igloo Cafe Gulmarg guide for what to expect.
- Meadow walks and sightseeing: In spring and autumn you can walk in the meadows, visit St Mary’s Church and see Strawberry Valley and the golf course area.
For a wider look at the town, read our Gulmarg destination guide. If your plan also covers Sonamarg, our Sonamarg in winter guide shows how that road behaves in the cold months. Want Gulmarg as part of a full Kashmir trip rather than a stand-alone stay? Our 3 nights 4 days Kashmir package combines Srinagar with a Gulmarg snow day.
Gulmarg Packages from Hyderabad and Other Cities
Many guests ask for Gulmarg packages from Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi or Bangalore. The Gulmarg part of our Gulmarg tour packages is the same wherever you start. What changes is the flight, which is booked separately in our land-only plans.
For Gulmarg packages from Hyderabad, check current airline schedules into Srinagar. Many routes need one connection, and fares rise sharply close to peak dates, so book flights early. We meet you at Srinagar airport and run the whole trip from there. If you want a plan written for your city, see our page on Kashmir tour packages from Hyderabad. Starting from another city? The same Gulmarg tour packages can be planned through our Kashmir tour packages from Mumbai, our Delhi to Kashmir tour package and our Bangalore to Kashmir tour packages.
How to Reach Gulmarg
Srinagar is the base for all Gulmarg tour packages, including ours. Gulmarg is about 50 km from the city, and the road passes through Tangmarg before it climbs to the meadow. In normal weather the drive takes 1.5 to 2 hours. In winter it takes longer.
After heavy snow, only 4×4 vehicles or cars with snow chains are allowed on the Tangmarg to Gulmarg stretch. A private car from Srinagar may be stopped at Tangmarg, and you continue in a local 4×4. This is a safety rule, so plan a little extra time and keep warm clothes in your hand luggage rather than in the boot. Foreign visitors can read our guide for foreign tourists in Kashmir for ID and registration basics.
Gulmarg Safety and Health Tips
- Dress in layers: Gulmarg nights fall below zero in winter, and the weather can change quickly even in summer. Our Kashmir winter packing guide lists what to carry.
- Go easy at height: Gulmarg sits at about 2,650 m, and the top of the Gondola is close to 4,000 m. Some people feel light-headed there. Drink water, move slowly and come down if you feel unwell.
- Watch for black ice: Roads and paths freeze in the early morning and after sunset.
- Travel by day: Mountain roads are harder at night, especially in snow.
- Keep a buffer: Snow can delay a road or a flight, so leave a spare day if you have a fixed flight home.

Costs and Booking Tips
Here is a simple way to think about the money for a couple on the 5N/6D plan of our Gulmarg tour packages. The package starts from ₹12,500 per person, so about ₹25,000 for two. Add lunches for six days, roughly ₹3,600 to ₹7,200 for two at ₹300 to ₹600 per person per day. Then add anything optional, such as sledge rides, ski gear or Gondola tickets. Peak dates from 21 December to 10 January cost more. For a wider price view beyond our Gulmarg tour packages, see our Kashmir trip cost for 5 days guide.
- Book early for peak dates: Gulmarg rooms for Christmas and New Year go first.
- Get the inclusions in writing: Hotel names, meal plan, the Tangmarg vehicle and what happens if a road closes.
- Compare like with like: A lower price often means a lower hotel category, breakfast only or a shorter stay in Gulmarg.
- Check the Gondola plan: Ask whether a ticket is included in your Gulmarg tour packages quote, and which phase.
Payment and Cancellation Terms
These terms apply to all our Gulmarg tour packages.
Payment
- 25% advance to confirm your booking

Cancellation
- 30 days or more before departure: small booking fee only

- 10 to 19 days before: 75% of the package cost
- Less than 10 days before: 100%
If snow or a road closure stops a service, refunds depend on what the hotel or driver charges us. We will always tell you the numbers upfront. Hotels and transport providers may have their own rules, so ask for the terms in writing before you pay the advance.
Who These Packages Are Not For
We would rather lose a booking than send you on the wrong trip. Our Gulmarg tour packages are not a good fit if:
- You want to ski at an advanced level every day. Skiers should take the 6N/7D plan or ask for a ski-focused plan.
- You expect snow on an exact date. Snow is likely in January, but never certain on one day.
- You want to see five or six places in five days. Gulmarg tour packages that try this spend the trip in the car.
- You cannot cope with cold nights or altitude, or you have a health condition that needs care at height. Talk to your doctor first.
- You want a guaranteed Gurez or Ladakh trip in winter. Those roads close in heavy snow, and our Gurez Valley in winter guide explains why.
For Ladakh, check the official Ladakh Tourism site and see our Leh Ladakh tour packages for the right season.

How much do Gulmarg tour packages cost?
Our Gulmarg tour packages start from ₹10,500 per person for 4N/5D, ₹12,500 for 5N/6D and ₹15,500 for 6N/7D, twin sharing and land only. Peak dates cost more.
Is one night in Gulmarg enough?
It is enough for a first visit. Two nights are better for skiing, bad weather or a relaxed pace.
Are flights included?
No. Flights are booked separately, and we start the trip when you land in Srinagar.
Is Gulmarg open all year?
Yes. Winter is for snow and skiing, and the other months are for meadows and quiet stays.
Can I add Sonmarg?
Yes, usually as a day trip from Srinagar. In snowy weeks that road can shut, so we treat it as an add-on.
